I have a serious question to ask...

Its evident by our play we are years away from competing.

Zajac's stock will never be higher...
Schneider proved to every GM he is top 5 goalie in league...

By the time we compete Cory will be few yrs older and prime years would be over, maybe. If Kinkaid can prove he can play, do we restock with top picks/hot prospects by giving up Schneider (I believe we can get a kings ransom for him) and Zajac, Cammy and Greene?

Those 4 alone can rebuild are future with right pieces coming back.

OR.. do what Lou did, constantly trying to ice a team to "break even" and just coasting by hoping the right combo will click?

Why put young players in a position to succeed when you have greats such as Kalinin. At this point they should be sending Zacha back to juniors and getting ready to sell off.

We would need to take back considerable salary, thats more than $20 mil we would be trading away and cap floor is still a concern.

I have to disagree if it wasn't for our defense this team would be turning the corner this season and with all the cap space and the expansion draft coming up the Devils will have a good chance of bringing in some decent defenseman for low costs a lot of teams out there that don't want to lose players for nothing and will be willing to part ways with them for less then if somehow this team can convince shattenkirk i think we will be ok

Bright side, if Santini sticks he has a quick path to big minutes.

I've realized once you make a trade with a canadian franchise, their fanbases will stalk your forums to be like "so how'd that work out for you?"

also, re: Boucher

If the Devils were the only team to submit a claim, we can send him to Albany without waivers. I think that might explain this.

Happy for Santini to get on the board. He's not a offensive player, so I when people checked his stat line in Albany and saw he had no points, they assumed he sucked. Maybe this will get some people off his back.
